The RosterMate Story

Built in New Zealand. Built for New Zealand Business.

RosterMate was founded in 2023 by two brothers with a shared background in custom software development across New Zealand. Working with businesses of all sizes — from hospitality and healthcare to logistics and retail — they observed a consistent, costly problem: workforce management was unnecessarily complex, and the tools available to address it were either too basic or too enterprise-heavy to be practical.

Manual rosters. Paper timesheets. Leave requests lost in email chains. The operational drag was significant — and entirely avoidable. Business owners were spending hours each week on administrative tasks that added no value, while the workforce management platforms designed to solve these problems were built for large corporations and priced accordingly.

Small and medium businesses in New Zealand needed something different: a purpose-built, affordable platform that delivered real efficiency without the complexity of enterprise software.

RosterMate was built to fill that gap. Drawing on years of hands-on experience with real business workflows, the platform was designed from the ground up to be intuitive, reliable, and scalable — covering rostering, time and attendance tracking, and leave management in a single integrated solution.

Today, RosterMate serves businesses across New Zealand, providing the operational tools to manage their workforce with confidence. The platform continues to evolve based on direct customer feedback, with regular updates that reflect the real-world needs of the businesses it supports.

Locally owned and operated, RosterMate remains committed to delivering enterprise-grade workforce management capability at a price point that works for New Zealand businesses — without compromise.

Our Principles

Operational Simplicity

Effective workforce management software should reduce complexity, not add to it. RosterMate is designed to be intuitive from day one — minimising training time and maximising productivity for managers and staff alike.

Customer-Led Development

RosterMate's roadmap is shaped by the businesses that use it. New features and platform improvements are driven by direct customer feedback, ensuring that every update addresses a genuine operational need rather than a hypothetical one.

Long-Term Partnership

We measure success by our customers' outcomes, not by contract length. That commitment starts at onboarding — which is always included at no cost — and continues through dedicated, ongoing support from a team that understands your business.
